ASUS has announced some exciting features at Gamescom 2023, among them being 3 brand new motherboards for us to add to our gaming PC arsenal. It’s not just aesthetics that have changed, ASUS seems to have upped the ante by bringing us some fresh new features. ASUS ROG announces 3 new Intel-based motherboards.

Introducing ASUS’s new Z790 motherboards

ASUS ROG has announced 3 new motherboards at Gamescom that include some never before seen features on the platform. Available to support Intel 12th-gen, 13th-gen, and next-generation (Raptor Lake-s) processors are the following new arrivals:

  • ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Dark Hero
  • ASUS ROG Strix Z790-A Gaming Wifi II
  • ASUS TUF Gaming Z790-Pro Wifi

Interesting to note that the new lineup consists of exclusively Z790 motherboards, the top-dog chipset that ASUS has to offer, proving that ASUS has placed a large emphasis on performance with its latest motherboard releases.

Speaking of which, what are the new features we hinted at earlier?

What new features do these ASUS motherboards offer?

The three new Z790 ASUS motherboards offer the new Wifi 7 chips that Intel showcased earlier on during Gamescom 2023, which aim to vastly improve the speed, reliability, and security of devices on Wifi.

Improved Q-LED troubleshooting lights mean you’ll be able to confirm whether or not your system is running properly with more ease. It’s unclear exactly how ASUS improved the Q-LED code function, but there was mention of the Q-LED system being able to notify users if memory is incorrectly installed into the system before it is booted. Which should save some of us some issues.

Apart from that, we have AI overclocking features (the first time it’s ever been included on a TUF motherboard), AEMP II to make sure you’re squeezing the most performance possible out of your DDR5 memory, and AI Cooling II, to ensure your system is getting all the cooling it needs. This is all controlled by AI and requires very little user intervention.

We’re very much looking forward to what ASUS has to offer with these motherboards, and we hope that the new AI integration and new Q-LED troubleshooting can make for an easier end-user experience.
