Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2 Player Count Falls Below 90,000 Since Launch

The release of Modern Warfare 2 was a major event for the Call of Duty Franchise. It brought a lot of players back into the scene by pulling everyone that was still suck on 2019’s Modern Warfare with the new mechanics and the promise of a reworked Warzone 2 experience.
This truly seemed to unify the Call of Duty community since the release of 2019’s Modern Warfare and the player count has constantly reflected this. However, it would seem that the Honeymoon period for gamers and Modern Warfare 2 has finally started to wear off as the player count has finally taken a dive below 90,000. Thus marking the lowest player count that Modern Warfare 2 has ever seen.
While the exact cause of this latest player drop is yet to be fully determined, the replies on Twitter can give a pretty good idea. This seems to be a build up of multiple complaints from the community falling on deaf ears.
Since release many fans have complained about the addition of Skill Based Match Making, the changes to the movement system as well as the elimination of any slide canceling tech. The recent addition of ranked was thought to be a savior for the game but instead just showed off the insane amount of hacking in the game.
The only question left on everyone’s mind now is where this goes from here. Players are hopeful that this will be a wake up call to Activision and they will start to make changes that the community is asking for but that is yet to be seen.
Reguarless of whatever the next move Activision makes, it won’t be seen until the mid-season update for season two or until the full launch of season three. So nothing with be changing anytime soon most likely.
