Fortnite is an ever changing game. Modes of play, special events, and weapons being introduced and subsequently vaulted every season. One of the biggest changes to happen to the game was the introduction of a ranked mode for both Build and Zero Build matches.
Recently, ranked mode was taken down for updates and has since returned. However, a huge problem that players seem to have with Zero Build ranked remains.
Fortnite players want Zero Build solo ranked matches
In a Reddit post by u/Tropical_cooks, an attached video clip shows a player in a Zero Build match, trying to get the reboot card of their teammate (who landed far away and died) and try to bring them back to life. However, the teammate left the match a second before the player picked up their teammates card.
u/Tropical_cooks said in the post, “If you leave a game, you should instantly be demoted a rank.”
The solution to the problem may seem simple. If you have problems with randos online, just play a solo match. However, there are no ranked singles matches for Zero Build as of now, only duos. This is something that players have been calling for.
Reddit user u/sanholo14 reacted to the clip, saying, “Another reason to add solos.”
Yet, some players are still finding success in their Zero Build ranked duos and are not calling for a solo mode, but rather just changes to ranked duos.
Reddit user u/flyboy2123 said, “I think that the person who is still in the game should get enhanced scoring for finishing out the game. It happened to me yesterday and I still finished second. Playing solo because your teammate quit should absolutely boost your stats.”
A possible explanation for the lack of game modes for Zero Build rank may come from the fact that not as many players are playing Zero Build compared to Build.
Despite this, there seems to be enough player interest in a ranked Zero Build solo mode or at the very least, a penalty to a partner who dips or a stat boost to the remaining partner.
Amongst all this debate, one player has come to the defense of the partner who left the game in the clip above.
Reddit user u/diemunkiesdie proclaimed, “His mom said it was dinner time.”
