With Fortnite’s v26.20 update, the Rocket Ram, a popular utility item, has been nerfed. Thankfully, this was done only in specific modes. There are plenty of weapons in Fortnite Battle Royale; some are incredibly powerful, and others, not so much. However, sometimes Epic Games will introduce an item that does more harm for other players than good, in terms of fairness, of course.

However, with the latest Fortnite blog post, players were surprised to find the new item nerfed after it was returned to the competitive modes. The Rocket Ram is now back, but how has it been nerfed, and which modes will have this nerf?

Latest Fortnite update nerfed Rocket Ram in specific modes

Rocket Ram is a Utility item used in the Fortnite Battle Royale. This mobility item was introduced in Chapter 4: Season 4 of Fortnite. To use the item, the Rocket Ram will charge for two seconds; after this, you can jump in the air and be thrust in the direction you wish.

Previously, you could use the Rocket Ram for unlimited time. However, with the recent Fortnite v26.20 update, the Rocket Ram has now been nerfed. This, however, will only be Tournaments. With the new update, when you use the Rocket Ram in competitive modes, you will only have three finite charges until it disappears from your inventory.

However, similar to the regular Rocket Ram, the cooldown, features, and other stats remain the same. After you have used the Rocket Ram, it will have a 25-second cooldown before you can use it again.

So, why the nerf? Well, the Rocket Ram is incredibly powerful. In addition to using this item to blast yourself across the map, it also has various uses. Once the Rocket Ram has been fully charged, it can destroy structures and buildings. While this nerf may sound unfounded to many Fortnite players, limiting the ability to run away and destroy buildings can change the game’s trajectory.
