It turns out Hello Kitty Island Adventure was not a joke but, instead, a very real game that is now available on Apply Arcade. The reviews have been rolling in all day, and many state that this Hello Kitty game is fun across between the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

This game was referenced more than a decade ago as a game Butters loved on the South Park TV show, but now fans and players of this new Hello Kitty game are seeing that it indeed was not just a joke. The game has gotten good reviews and has even gotten the community excited.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure is getting love from the Apple community

Apple Arcade is a subscription service for gamers on their Apple products, meaning the games listed on the services usually can only be played from their subscription. However, sometimes we will see other games on there that started out on another platform, for example, Wilde Flowers is available on Apply Arcade and Nintendo Switch. With this new adorable Hello Kitty game having been released, players are wondering if they should subscribe to play it.

The game began a discussion in a cozy gamers’ subreddit, where users are sharing some of their very first thoughts on the game so far. One user’s comment reads, “Cute and colorful graphics, and big map! but it drains my battery so fast, phone feels hot after playing for awhile. Hope they can patch this in the next update.” It is no surprise that with this game having the detail that it does that it drains the battery quickly and also makes the phone warm, just as a gaming console would experience. Other users responded, saying they had the same issue come up but couldn’t put the game down.

Another user in the comments said, “I didn’t think this game was real, just a South Park joke.” This is funny, considering many people didn’t even know this game would be a reality after it was featured in a South Park episode as a joke, now, the game exists in the real world for gamers to play.

Some users in the comments then were asking just how the Apple Arcade subscription works, and it works very simply, you just pay for the monthly sub and can cancel any time, but just like Game Pass, you get access to an assortment of games every month, and your saves will be linked to your Apple account even if you cancel.

It definitely sounds worth giving Hello Kitty Adventure Island a try as players continue to gush about the graphics and how cute the gameplay is. This game could be the next Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
