Meta seems to be experiencing service issues as we see reported downs across both Instagram and Facebook. This outage comes just after Threads launched just a day ago and met with very mixed reviews. Could this be a sign? Instagram and Facebook are down – Meta having issues.
Facebook and Instagram are down as Meta has service issues
It has been brought to our attention that both Facebook and Instagram seem to be having issues according to the popular service checker DownDetector.

There have been hundreds of reports flooding in on Down Detector suggesting that the services have hit a major bump in the road.

These outages came just one day after Meta launched its Threads app to very mixed reviews. There’s a lot of controversy surrounding the app, its deletion practices, and its data collection. Could this be a sign from the network gods themselves? But that’s not the main concern here.
Whatever the reason, we’re sure the services will be back up and running again in no time flat.
When will Facebook and Instagram go back online?
It’s hard to say with things like this because these outages appear to be unscheduled and outside of any regular maintenance patterns. Although it is possible that Threads has caused some interruption to the services.
We assume that the services will be back online soon, as Meta is a large company with a very good network infrastructure, and we only assume Meta has only the smartest of network engineers on the case as we speak.
Sorry to say, we might all have to go outside for a bit.
