Computex 2023 is in full swing, and there are plenty of things to enjoy. And at the MSI booth Hardware Unboxed found the RTX 4060 Gaming X model. The RTX 4060 release date is still at least a month away as it is scheduled for some time in July alongside the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB model.

This design shows of the Gaming X range, combining the RGB and performance for the small form factor of these new graphics cards. With their low TBPs, you don’t need a huge cooling capacity. The AIB offers Twin Frozr 9 thermal design, with Torx Fan 5s for high pressure to the radiator. As well as using a simple copper baseplate with a number of heat pipes to distribute the heat.

Although later on Hassan from WCCFTech noted the PCB in the GPU is in fact the AD106-350 (with Samsung memory) rather than the actual 4060 PCB yet to release. It is known to have a 115W TGP, which is 45W less than the Ti version and so it will be sufficient and rather more than enough for the lower-level card.

With how badly the 4060 Ti has been fairing in retail, we’re not sure the next release will be any different. But that might just be the state of the market as well since the improvements haven’t been significant and inflation is not too great for consumers.

The card will have an MSRP of $299 but this model might increase it higher for the design. It features 3,072 CUDA cores, with 8GB of GDDR6 memory across a 128-bit bus. It is likely to be focused on 1080p gaming purely and not much more. Although the addition of DLSS 3 might push the performance it does provide a good option for mini-ITX cases. But we don’t expect much better reception than the Ti card.
