Whilst OLED technology has been around for some time now, we still haven’t seen its full incorporation into the gaming sector – mainly because of the premium that comes with OLED utilization. That being said, we are starting to see more OLED gaming monitors hit shelves, one of which is the Skyworth G90 – a 48″ gaming display that boasts a UHD (4K) resolution alongside quick response time and 120Hz refresh rate. It will also feature high-end color recreation, an almost infinite contrast ratio, and HDMI 2.1 support as well. And whilst Skyworth isn’t the first name you might think of when considering a gaming panel, their latest offering certainly seems to tick plenty of the right boxes.
The OLED panel will compete with other large-screen displays of similar ilk, however, this one seems more tailored towards the PC gamer than console. LG’s CX and C1 TVs both offer OLED panels at a similar price range, putting the Skyworth into a pretty competitive pool. Furthermore, with Gigabyte releasing its Aorus FO48U, it’ll be interesting to see how it stacks up against the more PC-tailored options too.
Skyworth G90 OLED Specifications
As for specs, users can expect a UHD 4K resolution, native 120Hz refresh rate, and adaptive-sync variable refresh rate technology too – for both NVIDIA and AMD systems. Whilst it isn’t listed, we can also expect a low (1ms) response time – as per OLED technology.
OLED panels always provide excellent color and HDR performance, with the G90 offering up 99% DCI-P3 gamut coverage and 10-bit color depth. On the JingDong listing, there is mention of a 3D LUT in the features for this panel – implying some form of hardware calibration support similar to that of the LG OLED TVs. Calman support also features in the G90 gaming display.
As with all OLED panels, the G90 will feature individual pixel dimming which will help offer a fantastic HDR experience with an infinite contrast ratio. Besides this, users can also expect a reported peak brightness of 900 cd/m2 – effectively outperforming both LG CX and C1 models in luminance. HDR10 and Dolby Vision are also supported in the G90 too.
Aesthetically, you’d have to say the Skyworth G90 certainly leans more towards the gamey. At the rear, users will find an RGB strip that slashes through the monitor on an angle. The stand seems to be cylindrical by design with a wide ‘V’ shape base for extra stability. You do have the option to wall mount this display via a VESA 200 x 200 mm mount. Dual 8W speakers are built into the system supporting Dolby Atmos too – or so the listing quotes. A small remote can be used to navigate the monitor’s menu and inputs.
Console gamers will also be pleased to hear that the Skyworth G90 will feature 2 x HDMI 2.1 ports, 1 x HDMI 2.0 port, and a selection of USB 3.0/2.0 ports. A LAN port and Wi-Fi 6 can also be found at the rear.

The Skyworth G90 isn’t currently available for purchase – however, it on pre-sale for 7499 Yuan which equates to roughly $1,170 – with a final RRP expected to be closer to $2,270.
