Whilst the issues seem to be resolved for some, we happen to use Slack and we are still facing issues with the platform. We are unable to send or receive messages on the platform, and it appears the huddle function is currently offline too.

This is likely an unexpected outage as there’s no information online that points to server maintenance being conducted at this time, we expect that the issue will be resolved soon.

How to fix Slack being down

If Slack is experiencing downtime or technical issues, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot and potentially fix the problem:

  • Check Slack’s Status: Before attempting any fixes, visit Slack’s official status page or Twitter account to see if there is a widespread outage or known issue. If Slack is already aware of the problem, they might be working on a solution.
  • Refresh or Reload: Sometimes, the issue may be temporary or caused by a glitch. Try refreshing or reloading the Slack web page or desktop app.
  • Clear Cache and Cookies: Clearing your browser’s cache and cookies can help resolve issues related to stored data. After clearing the cache, try accessing Slack again.
  • Use a Different Browser: If you’re using a web browser to access Slack, try using a different browser to see if the issue is specific to your current browser.
  • Restart Slack App: If you’re using the Slack desktop app, close it and reopen it. A simple restart might resolve the issue.
  • Update Slack: Ensure that you are using the latest version of the Slack app or web browser. Check for updates and install them if available.
  • Try Mobile App: If the web version or desktop app isn’t working, try using the Slack mobile app on your smartphone or tablet.

Remember that if the issue is widespread and affecting many users, the best course of action is to wait for Slack’s technical team to resolve the problem. Patience is essential during such situations.

As we stated before, the outages seem to have been fixed as of around 11:10 AM.
