How many Core Expansions are there in Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon? Core Expansions in AC 6 act as a bonus to help you in combat. It has been nearly a decade since fans have stepped into the arena to play an Armored Core game and this one offers many ways to customize your mech.

FromSoftware has brought in many new additions to Armored Core 6 with tons of missions, OS Tuning, frame parts, and weapon parts. There is a lot to explore in the game and hundreds of ways to customize your mech.

There are plenty of upgrades and weapons to find throughout Armored Core 6. After all, the world is a big place to explore no matter if you are playing on PlayStation or Xbox. Do you want a build that will stagger foes? A key part is what Core Expansion you use. Here are all the Core Expansions in Armored Core 6.

All Core Expansions in Armored Core 6

There are four Core Expansions that you can get in the game with all of them having a focus on defense except for one. The following Core Expansions can be obtained in Armored Core 6:

  • Assault Armor
  • Pulse Armor
  • Terminal Armor
  • Pulse Protection

Each of these upgrades will change how your mech operates and give you different abilities. Let’s break each of them down.

Assault Armor

Assault Armor is the only expansion that is geared toward offense in Armored Core 6. This Core Expansion gives you the ability to release a pulse explosion that damages nearby foes with an AoE burst.

Having the Assault Armor equipped is a good way to increase your DPS and push enemies back when you are getting overwhelmed.

Pulse Armor

Pulse Armor is perhaps the weakest of all the Core Expansions but is great for mobile players. This expansion allows you to summon a barrier that protects your AC from harm for 10 seconds. Allowing you to get out of some pretty nasty situations, the Pulse Armor is great for those with mobile builds that need a little extra protection.

Terminal Armor

Terminal Armor is probably the most powerful of all the expansions and basically gives players a second chance. This armor activates automatically when your AC would normally get destroyed, allowing it to survive with one AP remaining. For a brief period of time after that, you are invincible, giving you enough time to use a repair kit or launch a powerful counterattack in hopes to destroy the enemies.

Pulse Protection

The final expansion is Pulse Protection. Like Pulse Armor, this expansion creates a shield. There is a difference, however. Pulse Armor creates a shield that moves with you and protects your AC. Pulse Protection, on the other hand, creates a static shield that protects you from attacks within a radius, requiring that you remain inside it if you want protection.
