The Mysterious Shards are scattered all around Baghdad. Getting them is no simple task, however, because there are often guards near them. Basim will need to work hard to get all of the shards and all of the gear items they can unlock.

How to get Mysterious Shards in AC Mirage
You cannot start collecting Mysterious Shards in Assassin’s Creed Mirage until you complete the first main investigation/quest. After that, Basim is directed to reconnect with Nehal. There are a lot of Mysterious Shards in the game for you to collect. Specifically, they can be found in the following areas:
- Harbiyah – Two Shards
- Abbasiyah – Two Shards
- Karkh – Two Shards
- Wilderness – Two Shards
The Mysterious Shards in each area around the Round City are being held by robed figures. They can only be obtained by locating the targets with the Mysterious Shards and performing successful assassinations or by pickpocketing them. These figures are often surrounded by guards and bystanders making them hard to reach.
How to use Mysterious Shards in AC Mirage
Basim can use Mysterious Shards to get different gear items. These can be obtained by going to the Wilderness. In the Wilderness, you will find pillars that you can place the shards into. After placing a certain number of shards into the pillars, it will unlock a piece of Isu gear. The following can be obtained from this:
- Samsaama Dagger – Every fifth hit heals Basim for 10% health
- Shamshir-e Zomorrodnegar sword – Max health is lowered by 50% while damage is increased by 50%
- Milad’s Outfit – Successful air assassinations cause a flash of lightning to disorient all bystanders within a 15-meter radius
As you can tell, the items obtained from the Mysterious Shards are quite powerful and are some of the best gear items in the game.
