If you’re wanting to play the game close to the original way then you might be interested in playing it on a controller. So we bring you the best controller settings for the Resident Evil 4 remake on PC.

The remake comes nearly a decade after the original was released in 2005. It’s the next in a line of remasters coming from Capcoms beloved series. And releases after number 8, Village.

Since the original game came out on the Gamecube, many things have changed since then. Graphics and processing have vastly improved and controllers have changed too. And so there are plenty of settings to consider.

If you’re new to the series, or like how modern controls are then it’s fairly simple. The game lets you select which controller type you are using. Type A a PlayStation one, Type B is an Xbox and Type C is a generic controller.

With that selected, there is a control type you can set. And if you’re a more modern fan then A1 or A2 is a great choice.

This will give you classic weapon options on triggers, running on the bumper or joystick and interacting, crouching, and reloading on the buttons. With 2 just changing some of the locations.

And this default is very good and standard so a good choice. But you can also change out some other settings, like changing crouch and run to toggles or not, and if you want a quick turn or parry. With a possible aim assist too.

Now if you want to experience the game as it used to be, or more just similar with a modern adaptation the C type is a good choice for you.

These aim to emulate the experience of playing the game on a Gamecube controller. Although this just changes the position of actions. With the interact, button moved, and run on buttons. With reload moved to bumpers instead.
