Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty – Should you take the Chimera’s Core?
In short, yes. You should definitely take the Chimera’s Core in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. The reason for this is that the core can be turned into powerful weapon mods. There are four you can turn it into; Firecracker, Wallpuncher, Hackatomy, and Severance.
Let’s break down the different mods and explain what makes them good. All of these mods count as a tier five iconic weapon mod.
Firecracker Mod
The Firecracker mod is a power weapon mod that gives the weapon explosive ammo. This means that your bullets will now pack an extra punch that they didn’t before, increasing the damage of your weapon.
Wallpuncher Mod
The Wallpuncher mod is a tech weapon mod. As such, it can only be applied to tech weapons. With this mod, you can charge your weapon up to 200% capacity, giving you 100% armor penetration. This will also allow you to fire through cover with no problem.
Hackatomy Mod
The Hackactomy mod is a smart weapon mod. As such, you can only equip it to smart weapons. This mod will give you a 5% quickhack chance meaning you have a small chance to apply a quickhack effect to an enemy with each shot. This is also dependent on the body part hit.
Severance Mod
The Severance mod is a melee weapon mod. As such, you can only apply this mod to melee weapons. This mod grants the weapon a 20% dismemberment chance, meaning you have a chance to cut off whatever limb you are targeting including the head. This applies to enemies that are below 50% health.
