Cyberpunk’s 2.0 update is now live, and it promises a whole ton of new content for Night City, just in time for the Phantom Liberty release later this month. And the patch is finally here, at a whopping 25GB download.

Projekt Red confirmed on its stream that the Cyberpunk 2.0 update will be live at 08:00 PDT / 11:00 EDT / 16:00 BST / 17:00 CEST, on the 21st September.

Release Date for Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Update

The Cyberpunk 2.0 Update officially comes out on September 21, 2023, so mark your calendars. The update will be available for all consoles the game released on, including Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The official release date came from the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter, giving not only the date but an impressive trailer showing off the new features. According to Community Director Marcin Momot, we at least know this date is correct.

The update will come with a new district, an increased level cap, new quests, and fixes to bullets, melee weapons, SMGs, and other improvements. Have patience for this 2.0 release of Cyberpunk 2077, because like cybernetic enhancements, the Xbox, PC, and PlayStation game size is a significant addition to the game. So be ready for Cyberpunk 2077’s 2.0 update coming before the Phantom Liberty expansion.

What is the Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Update?

CD Projekt Red has packed Cyberpunk 2.0 with plenty of revamps and features. This includes a brand new Relic Skill Tree and Perks, allowing for new builds for your character including Bullet-Time Ninja and Slash Netrunner. For everyone who downloads and plays Update 2.0, there will be a one-time chance to redistribute all of their attribute points, to try out all the new features being added to the skill trees. Note that this is a one-time only, so if you decide to do this, choose attributes wisely! You won’t be able to do it again.

Vehicle combat is also being added to Cyberpunk, allowing you to shoot weapons from inside a car. Car combat will go very nicely with the new, far more aggressive Night City Police system, which will try to run you off the road and set up barricades to stop you. These two features paired together allow for endless dynamic events no matter whether you’re in a car, on a bike or motorcycle, or any other vehicle. Car chases are sure to be some of the most fun you’ll have in the new update.

Even More Customization

Cyberpunk’s 2.0 update will also include updates to the Cyberware system, character customization, and the combat AI, as well as plenty of other additions. These include new items like new weapons, new clothing, and new crafting features. New radio stations are also being added to the game, for more music to listen to as you cruise around Night City. All of which is a fantastic preview of what you can expect if you decide to buy the Phantom Liberty DLC.

This overhaul of the game will create a fresh experience for old and new players, and will truly let the new items, the hack system, new police system, air dash changes, gigs, and missions shine together. NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 Update

Nvidia has also announced that its latest DLSS 3.5 will launch with Cyberpunk’s 2.0 patch, meaning for those that have a decent RTX card, capable of ray-tracing, you’ll be able to see some serious improvements not only in frame-rates but also in quality too. All you’ll need to do is update your drivers as the patch drops later today. Sadly, AMD isn’t supported with DLSS 3.5, however AMD’s FSR 3.0 shouldn’t be too far behind.
