Is Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty next-gen exclusive?
Yes, the Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 is exclusive to next-gen consoles. This is sad news for all players on PS4 and Xbox One, as they won’t be able to experience the massive expansion this September.
Phantom Liberty will be available on:
- PC
- Xbox Series X|S
- PlayStation 5
These platforms are the only ones Phantom Liberty is currently planning to launch on.
Why isn’t Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty on previous-gen?
During the Edgerunners Update 1.6 for Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red announced on their support website that they would no longer be updating the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Cyberpunk 2077 beyond fixing technical issues.
This means that no new content is being added to the previous-gen version of the game, including the Phantom Liberty DLC. There are no known plans to change this in the future, so unfortunately previous-gen console players are out of luck to bring the DLC to their platforms.
Phantom Liberty will take you to a brand new district of Night City on a new mission in this spy-thriller expansion. Take on the dangerous district of Dogtown and uncover alliances and loyalties that you’ve never seen before. There’s espionage, cyberware, and Keanu Reeves back as Johnny Silverhand. Idris Elba joins the cast for the expansion, as well. This all goes along with the 2.0 Update for the game, which also brings tons of content.
Even though Phantom Liberty won’t be available on last-gen consoles, it’s not a bad idea to check it out where you can. Phantom Liberty promises new gameplay, a new story, and plenty more to enjoy, which looks beautiful with the right GPU.
