Picking what stats your character has plays a heavy part in your playstyle in Destiny 2. Sacrificing health regen for damage resistance can help you stay in the fight longer, but means you need to hide longer until you are fully healed.

Hunters have one of the hardest times picking stats since their class ability is tied to a stat you normally don’t care about. Let’s go over which stats you should focus on for Hunter in Destiny 2.

Best Stats To Max On Hunters in Destiny 2

While getting a solid Warlock build is easy since the stats you want easily overlap with your abilities, Hunters have a bit harder of a time. This is mainly caused by Hunter’s class ability cooldown being linked to mobility, which is one of the least-used stats in the game.

This causes Hunters to have to juggle having mobility, resilience, and recovery at decent levels while also putting levels into their ability stats as well. This can lead to Hunters having to sacrifice a core stat in order to remain as viable as a Titan or a Warlock.

  • Recovery

This is the first stat you will really want to focus on as a Hunter player. While you might think making yourself a bit tankier is better, having the ability to quickly dark into cover and fully heal while you reload works out much better for Hunters.

  • Mobility

Having your dodge on as low of a cooldown as possible is a major part of the Hunter playstyle. Being able to dodge and fully reload or dodge for your melee ability back once every 30 seconds is insanely powerful at keeping you in a fight.

You can also dodge into cover to allow for your higher recovery to kick in and get yourself to full health as fast as possible. The reload dodge will also allow you to quickly activate some of the more powerful perks on PvP weapons.

  • Intellect

Since Hunters are one of the more PvP-oriented classes, having your super come up as soon as possible is key for turning a losing fight into a winning one. Being able to quickly score a kill or two with a single button press can make a break a round of Trials regardless of the weapons the enemy has.

  • Strength/Discipline

Finally, the last stat you will want to focus on is dependent on your build for Hunter. If you want to throw more grenades, you will want to focus on having as high of a Discipline as possible. If melee is more your thing, then getting that Strength to 100 will let you punch and stab enemies as often as you want.

Since Hunter is one of the less ability-based classes, having the right weapons for PvE content can really make a difference for them. The more important part of the class is to understand how your weapon perks work and how to make them work for you.
