There’s no doubt that Destiny 2 players both new and old are excited for The Witch Queen due to the severe lack of content that has been implemented into the game over the past six months. What excitement does, however, is look to cause havoc for game developers with servers being hammered as soon as the content goes live.
This has been shown with the releases of Lost Ark and New World for example which were plagued with server queues for weeks on end due to the incredible demand for both titles. While Destiny 2 isn’t quite on those levels, thousands upon thousands still hop on every single day, so temper expectations in regards to actually being able to get in instantly.
How long are the Destiny 2: Witch Queen queue times?
Currently, as most Guardians around the world are trying to jump into The Witch Queen, a whole host of Bungie’s servers are currently at full capacity. This unfortunately means that you’ll likely be in a queue to access the new expansion.
Currently, the queue times are varying between 5 and 30 minutes depending on how quickly you were able to be prepared on launch. If you had all of your updates installed, no matter what platform you’re on, you are probably able to jump ahead of most but if you were slacking in installing said updates then you might be waiting a while to get in.
We can only assume that this server queue time will almost disappear in a couple of hours as Bungie is typically on the ball these days and either increases capacity or add new servers to cope with demand.
