EA Sports FC 24 Can you play as AFC Richmond?

FIFA 23 made waves by inroducing AFC Richmond, the team from the hit television show Ted Lasso. Will EA Sports FC 24 do the same? The show has concluded before the release of the latest football simulator, so fans are concerned whether or not Ted and his team will be playable in the new game.

Is AFC Richmond playable in EA Sports FC 24?
Unfortunately, Ted Lasso is not returning in EA Sports FC 24. It appears that the fun crossover was limited to FIFA 23, the game when the show was at the height of its popularity. The team was very popular, though.
AFC Richmond was a fictional English Premier League that played at Nelson Road. Richmond were not a real-world team and the players are not real, though they were inspired by real players. They were made up for the purposes of the show and they were not very good to begin with. By the time the team was added to the game, they had some pretty good players as well as the whole AFC Richmond Squad:
- Jamie Tartt – 84 OVR
- Roy Kent – 83 OVR
- Dani Rojas – 82 OVR
- Sam Obisanya – 81 OVR
- Isaac McAdoo – 80 OVR
- Moe Bumbercatch – 79 OVR
You could run the team as Ted himself, with Jason Sudeikis’ likeness, but Coach Beard was not present as a playable manager. The team was an option for the playable career mode league. They had authentic kits, licenses for all the players, and the Greyhounds’ Nelson Road was a playable stadium. You could use them in online seasons and online friendlies.
Unfortunately, they are limited to FIFA 23, so you’ll have to play that version if you need to kick-off with Tartt, Obisanya, and the rest. They also had cards for FUT (FIFA Ultimate Team), but again, that’s not part of EA FC 24.
The game releases on Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5 at the end of September.
