Final Fantasy 14 is one of the popular MMOs, and many players are curious to find out if it is free to play. Though unsurprising, it is one of the most popular franchises where players can fully immerse themselves in the game.

With various jobs available to undertake and mounts ready to be summoned, there’s endless content to enjoy. So, follow this guide to find out if Final Fantasy 14 is Free to Play.

Can you play Final Fantasy 14 for free?

Unfortunately, Final Fantasy XIV is not free to play. You must sign in and create a Square Enix account if you want to play. You will have to purchase the base game and select the subscription fees required to play the game. That should not discourage you from the game. If you want to play FFXIV, you can access the Final Fantasy 14 online free trial.

Final Fantasy 14 is a popular MMORPG where you can explore various adventures and expansions, such as the base game A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers, and Endwalker.

Although certain restrictions will be placed on you throughout the game, you can still access various services. For example, a Free Trial player can play up to Level 60, which will be the level cap. Additionally, players can create a maximum of eight characters on a single physical data center. In terms of Gil, players can accumulate up to 300,000; you will not be able to accumulate any more.

What restrictions are there for Free to Play in Final Fantasy 14?

Unfortunately, Free Trial players cannot use the Chat, Market Board, Tradiing, Moogle Delivery Service, Retainers, or Free Companies. In addition to the Chat, players will cant create any Linkshells, a group chat for accessible communication. However, you can join a pre-established Linkshell.

Although Final Fantasy 14 has various adventures, such as Chocobo Racing or crafting, a majority of the online events Free Trial players will not have access to. For example, they will not have access to the Party Finder to recruit members; however, if you use a Duty Finder, you can be matched automatically.

Free Trial players will also not have access to PvP matches, Optional Items, or the Companion App. If you enjoy the Final Fantasy franchise, these restrictions and limitations will not pose a concern if you want to enjoy the main story.
