Square Enix has released a demo for Final Fantasy 16 before the release of the full game on June 22. This demo allows you to play through a decent chunk of the game and experience everything from the intriguing story to the intense combat.

Typically, Final Fantasy demos only cover a small portion of the game and typically don’t have much to do with the actual game. That is not the case for the Final Fantasy 16 demo. Does the Final Fantasy 16 demo progress carry over though?

Does your Final Fantasy 16 demo save data carry over?

The short answer to the question is yes and no. Part of your saved data does carry over from the demo to the full game. This is confirmed by the description of the demo on the PlayStation Store. However, there is part of the demo that does not carry over to the launch of the full game.

A portion of the demo is focused on the prologue. Save data from the story portion of the demo carries over to the full game. Progress made in the special battle demo does not carry over.

You can download the demo now on PlayStation. Doing so will allow you to play through the game’s prologue. This part of the game will show you how the combat system works and allow you to experience some of the Eikons that story will focus on including Phoenix and Ifrit.

Other parts of the demo will show you different parts of the game’s world and allow you to get to know Clive’s companions including Torgal. The other portion of the demo focuses on completing challenges and trying out the different Eikon abilities that you will eventually have access to in the game.

After completing the demo, fans will be able to pick up their adventure where they left off when the game launches. The demo only lasts about two to three hours which is a decent chunk of the game.
