The incredibly popular Fortnite has released a new season in its saga, Chapter 4 Season 3. Given the tagline wilds, the new update started June 9 and is predicted to last until late August (although nothing is official from Epic Games). This is an 11-week run time, pretty standard for Fortnite. What was the longest season of Fortnite, though? That’s what we’re here to tell you.

Which season of Fortnite was the longest?

The longest season Fortnite ever held for the battle royale was for Chapter 2 Season 1, which holds the record at a whopping 139 days. Here are the top five longest seasons of Fortnite:

1. Chapter 2 Season 1 – 139 days
2. Chapter 2 Season 2 – 119 days
3. Chapter 3 Season 3 – 105 days
4. Chapter 2 Season 5 – 103 days
5. Chapter 4 Season 1 – 97 days

As you can see, no season has come close to beating the lengthy Chapter 2 Season 1 in terms of length. Chapter 2 Season 1 had a start date of October 15, 2019, and didn’t end until the end date of February 20, 2020. This season followed the black hole event in the loot pool from the previous chapter, and new features came along with the rifts the event opened up. The second season of Chapter 2 followed up with 119 days, short of beating its predecessor by 20 days, themed around secret agents and spies.

The average length of Fortnite season typically runs anywhere between 10 to 12 weeks, sometimes stretching out longer or shorter. This allows players to work through the battle pass at a good pace, play with the new weapons, meet all the new NPCs, and explore any changes to the map that may have occurred with the seasonal update. 

The newest season of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3, began on June 9 for players to explore the wilds and enjoy all the new content that comes with it. While no official end date has been given, in-game screenshots from the battle pass rewards screen show the game indicating that the end date for Season 3 will be on August 25. If this prediction is correct, then the season will last for exactly 77 days, which is standard for Fortnite seasons and isn’t abnormally long like the seasons listed above.

The start of the new Fortnite season brings fans of the battle royale into the wild, with a jungle-themed biome and dinosaurs to ride on. While leaks have debated the end of Season 3 and the start of a new Fortnite season, nothing is official on calendars yet.
