Each NPC offers unique items for sale or as loot. Obtaining certain items may require using gold bars as currency. It is important to note that engaging in combat with an NPC will cause them to retaliate and become hostile. It is generally advisable to retreat instead of risking defeat by NPCs. If you manage to create distance between yourself and the aggressive NPCs, and there are no other players nearby, they will eventually calm down. So, dealing with them becomes manageable and safe.
