Fortnite player count is highest it’s ever been since public count was released
Fortnite player count recently reached its peak thanks to the new season

Epic Games released a public Fortnite player count in Chapter 4 – Season 3. Thanks to it, it is now possible to see how many players are online for every single mode, from Battle Royale and Zero Build to Creative maps.
Interestingly, the public player count recently reached its all-time high, showing how popular the game is in 2023.
Fortnite player count is at the highest it’s been since its public release
According to the Fortnite player count, the video game has up to approximately 2 million concurrent players at any given moment. However, this number recently exceeded 2 million, setting a new record since the public player count was released.
On Friday, June 9, more than 2.1 million Fortnite players were online, which is a new record for the public player count. Of course, this was the first day of Chapter 4 – Season 3, which is why it’s no surprise that so many players were on.
It is important to note that this is not the all-time record for the Fortnite player count. Here are a few instances where Epic Games absolutely shattered concurrent player records:
- The Galactus event: The event took place at the end of Chapter 2 – Season 4, drawing 15.3 million concurrent players and setting the all-time record in gaming history
- The Astronomical: Epic Games released Travis Scott’s concert in Chapter 2, getting 12.3 million players during its first showing
- Marshmello’s event: The first-ever Fortnite concert drew an audience of 10.7 million players and was performed by Marshmello
Fortnite live events are fantastic, which is why many players make sure to get online for them. However, the popular video game once had 8.3 million concurrent players on a non-event day. This happened in 2019 when the game was still in Chapter 1.
In general, Fortnite has always had around 2 to 3 million concurrent players. According to Epic Games, the video game has 500 million players in total, with 70 million of them being active on a monthly basis.
