Classes act as specializations or a set of unique traits for your characters in Darkest Dungeon 2. While each Class works differently depending on the situation you’re in, people are wondering how many Classes will be there in Darkest Dungeon 2. If you’re searching for the same answer, dive into our article as we bring you clarity.

How many classes are available to choose in Darkest Dungeon 2?

When you start Darkest Dungeon 2, you’ll have only four available Classes of Heroes to choose from. However, as you progress through the game, you’ll earn Candles Of Hope, which will let you unlock as many as 7 Classes from the Altar of Hope. Although this brings the total Class count to 11, it’s still lower than the sequel, Darkest Dungeon, which had 17 total Classes.

Not all of these 15 classes are new, though. In Darkest Dungeon 2, eight hero Classes are returning from its sequel, namely Grave Robber, Hellion, Highwayman, Leper, Man-at-Arms, Occultist, Jester, and Plague Doctor, as well as a newly introduced ninth hero: the Runaway. Unfortunately, no Crusader this time.

Here is a representation of all the classes in Darkest Dungeons 2:

What is the fastest class in Darkest Dungeon 2?

The Fastest Classes in Darkest Dungeon 2 are the Highwayman, Grave Robber, and Occultist, with all three of them having a speed of 5. Speed is important since it increases your chance to go first in a round, meaning you’ll have the chance to annihilate or otherwise neutralize your enemies before they are able to act.

The importance of the Speed stat also varies on the dungeon level. For a level 1 dungeon, Speed doesn’t really matter. For a level 3 dungeon, Speed starts being a little bit relevant, and it starts becoming a deciding factor in your battles as you reach a level 5 dungeon.

Which classes will be unlocked at the beginning of Darkest Dungeon 2?

The Highwayman, Man-at-Arms, Grave Robber, and Plague Doctor Classes will be available to choose from at the beginning of Darkest Dungeon 2. The rest of the Classes will need to be unlocked from the Altar of Hope.
