As a detective, you should always be aware of your surroundings, you never know what could aid you on a case. One such aid is found in the form of sync disks. The items look like floppy disks but instead of being used with a computer, they’re installed directly into you. It’s a strange concept but works for the world of Shadows of Doubt. If you’ve got a sync disk in your inventory, here’s how to use one.

How to install sync disks in Shadows of Doubt

Sync disks can be installed at Sync Clinics found within the world. Once you find a clinic, you need to approach a bed, aim for the pillow, and a text prompt should come up. Press Right Click to lay down in the bed and more options will show up. Choose to install the sync disk by clicking Left Click and you’ll be presented with all the sync disks you have. Install one by choosing the option you want with Left Click. Once it’s done installing, you can exit the bed by clicking Right Click.

Your screen will be fuzzy for a minute or so, but that’s alright. That means the sync disk is processing and it should clear up quickly. You can have one sync disk installed at a time. If you install another, it will replace the original. Also, if you uninstall a sync disk, it will be deleted from your inventory and you’ll have to find and install a new one.

What is a sync disk?

Sync disks are small items you can pickup in Shadows of Doubt. They are used in a number of ways, but all of them basically give you a buff in some form or another. Installing them can grant you additional money, boost your health, and even make you a better detective by allowing you to know specific details about a person.

Sync disks can be found everywhere in the world. One of the first ones is on a desk in city hall, while others can be looted from safes.
