Since Star Wars Jedi is its own contained story, it can add or change information to the story as it sees fit. This can lead many players to be confused as to if Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a sequel to the previous one or a prequel.

It can be quite confusing if you were to jump into the story midway through and have no clue what is going on, but if it is a prequel then you would want to play this one first. With that said, let’s go over if Jedi Survivor is a sequel to Fallen Order.

Is Jedi Survivor A Sequel To Fallen Order?

Although the title could lead you to believe this is a prequel to Fallen Order, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor takes place after the events of Fallen Order. This means you might want to do a playthrough of Fallen Order before the release to be caught up to speed with everything that is going on.

It will be much easier to get a hold of Fallen Order as well since it is available on Game Pass if you have it. It can also be played on the previous generation of consoles, unlike Jedi Survivor.

Just don’t get too comfortable with the mechanics, as a lot seems to have changed in Jedi Survivor compared to Fallen Order. You will have plenty of new abilities as well as tons of new enemies to go up against. You may even want to get some of your friends to play the game in case multiplayer gets added in later down the line.

Of course, just because it is a sequel doesn’t mean you need to go back and play the original. There will most likely be a story recap at the start of the game to fill you in on everything you need to know.
