Kirby’s Dream Buffet Release Date

Kirby’s Dream Buffet Announcement Trailer

Kirby’s Dream Buffet was announced extremely recently by Nintendo and as far as a release date goes, is due to hit the Switch eShop later this summer.

From what we’ve seen of the game, it looks like it’s Fall Guys by way of Kirby. You and various other Kirby’s (Kirbs?) use your copy abilities to pick up food and make sure that you eat the most by the end of a round to move on to the next one.

As far as actual details go, that’s really all we know. We’ll get more information on the game in the next couple of months, but it’s going to support online play and be available only on the Nintendo eShop for an as-yet unclear price in the Summer of 2022.

Kirby’s Dream Buffet is currently scheduled for Wednesday, August 17th. Nintendo announced the news during a concert today, and also revealed the game will consist of four levels.

Will It Be Like Kirby And The Forgotten Land?

Kirby’s Dream Buffet will not be similar in gameplay styles to the recently released Kirby And The Forgotten Land.

Kirby And The Forgotten Land takes a much more Super Mario Odyssey-esque approach to gameplay, allowing players to use the brand-new ‘mouthful mode’ to suck up various objects and take on their properties.

From the looks of it, Kirby’s Dream Buffet is looking to target a much more simplistic gameplay style in which you simply attempt to beat your opponents and reach the top of a leaderboard. If you’ve played Fall Guys before, you know how this goes.

You have to finish in a certain bracket to qualify for the next series of games, and if you don’t you’ll find yourself quickly removed from the proceedings. It’s no wonder that Nintendo is looking to get in on this craze, and it’s not surprising that they’ve used perhaps their cutest little mascot to do it.
