As with most PC games, there are two sets of requirements for the game. Minimum requirements will let you play the MW2 PC beta with reduced graphical settings and performance. Recommended settings are required if you want the best experience:

Modern Warfare 2 Beta PC Start and End Times

The Modern Warfare 2 Beta for PC will start at 10 AM PT/1 PM ET/6 PM BST on 22 September 2022 for those who have a PC/Xbox preorder or are playing on PlayStation systems. It will end at 10 AM PT/1 PM ET/6 PM BST on 26 September 2022 for everyone.

Those on PC or Xbox without a preorder will have to wait until 24 September, when the open PC beta begins.

If you’ve preordered the game and are wondering what to do with your code, we can help you with that. Follow the instructions below for your platform of choice to get your code redeemed:

Redeem on Steam:

  1. Visit the COD website and login to your COD account.
  2. Click ‘Redeem Code’ on the homepage.
  3. Enter your code in the top slot, then select ‘Steam’ in the drop-down menu.
  4. Enter your location into the final box and click ‘Submit.’
  5. Take the new code you receive and open Steam.
  6. Click ‘Add a game’ in the bottom-left corner and then ‘Activate a product on Steam.’
  7. Follow the instructions and enter your new code when prompted to start installing the game.

Redeem on Battle.net

  1. Visit the COD website and login to your COD account.
  2. Click ‘Redeem Code’ on the homepage.
  3. Enter your code in the top slot, then select ‘Battle.net’ in the drop-down menu.
  4. Enter your location into the final box and click ‘Submit.’
  5. Take the new code you receive and open Battle.net.
  6. Click your account name in the top-right and then select ‘redeem a code.’
  7. Enter your code and click ‘Redeem Code’ to unlock the Beta in your games library.
