Can I Play Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Early? That’s a question on the lips of several people and if you’re one of those fans we’ve got some bad news for you.

Can I Play Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Early?
In short, no you can’t play MW2 Multiplayer early.

The standard New Zealand trick on Xbox simply won’t work, with Infinity Ward themselves stating that:
“Launch PSA: If you are trying to change your console’s region setting in order to access Modern Warfare 2 early, you will experience connectivity issues and may be locked out of the game until the official launch time of your console.”
This means that any attempt to use the New Zealand trick will result in you having to wait to play the game anyway and basically serves to make trying the trick completely pointless.
This is only important to note on Xbox systems, as PlayStation systems simply won’t let you do this trick for any game without also rebuying the game.
When Does MW2 Multiplayer Launch?
MW2 Multiplayer will launch on consoles at midnight in your local timezone and will vary based on your location when it comes to PC, as you can see above.
