Modern Warfare 2 has a plethora of different modifiers it can apply to any kill you get, such as backstab and long-range kills. However, one of the more inconsistent modifiers you can get is the point-blank kills in MW2. While you could just avoid caring about these kill types for the most part, there are plenty of camo challenges as well as daily challenges that give you raid tickets for the newest raid episode that require point-blank kills. Let’s go over how you can consistently get point-blank kills in MW2.

How To Get Point Blank Kills In MW2

If you are looking for the quickest way to be point-blank kills we first have to understand what counts as a point-blank kill. In order for a kill to be a point-blank kill, you must be within 5 meters of the person you kill. This is a pretty close range but also not too hard to do with specific weapons.

Shotguns and SMGs will be your best friends for getting any point-blank kills. Most shotguns need to be within that 5-meter range to get one-shot kills anyway so you would naturally be farming point-blank kills that way. You can also use pistols if you want, but they are not as consistent at getting quick kills just because you are close.

While you may think melee is the way to go, getting a melee kill will actually override your point-blank kill and give you a backstabber kill instead, so running around with a melee is not going to help you out this time. You may also think about using the new Cronen Squall battle rifle, however, the slower fire rate will make it hard to secure your kill at close range.

You want to hit an enemy hard at fast since it is hard to miss shots at point-blank range. While this makes your job of getting the kill easier, it also makes the enemy’s job of reacting to being shot and turning on you easier as well. All they need is a few shots to shut you down. So hitting them before they can realize what is going on is the key to getting point-blank kills.
