MW2 Launch Times
Okay so first off, it’s important to note that consoles all get access at midnight local time for them. There’s no schedule for console players, it’ll just be at midnight. PC Gamers will have an altogether different experience, however, with the following launch times:
- Los Angeles: 21:00 PDT (Oct 27th)
- Mexico City: 23:00 CDT (Oct 27th)
- Quebec City: 00:00 EDT
- New York: 00:00 EDT
- Sao Paulo: 01:00 BRT
- London: 05:00 GMT
- Stockholm: 06:00 CEST
- Berlin: 06:00 CEST
- Seoul: 13:00 KST
- Tokyo: 13:00 JST
- Sydney: 15:00 AEDT
This schedule means that if you want a quicker way to access the MW2 multiplayer it’s probably better for you to get the console version of the game unless you’re willing to wait the extra time to play the game.

We do already know that the New Zealand trick of changing your timezone simply won’t work though, with Infinity Ward stating the following:
“Launch PSA: If you are trying to change your console’s region settings in order to access #MWII early, you will experience connectivity issues and may be locked out of the game until the official launch time of your region.”
When Did The Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Launch?
The Modern Warfare 2 campaign launched a week before the multiplayer, October 21st, but only if you’ve already pre-ordered the game. Otherwise, you have to wait until Friday, October 28th to play the game along with everybody else.

This extra time to play means that people have already finished the campaign and are currently waiting rather impatiently for the multiplayer to launch.
