Among all the news and kerfuffle about the upcoming new Overwatch 2 season change, we’ve actually got some good info on the Overwatch 2 season 4 new heroes.

But the most important thing to note is that the latest Overwatch 2 hero leaked (on April 3rd in a now-deleted article at PCGamesN) ahead of the form announcement: Lifeweaver joins the game soon, and we’ve got some early details on them.

Who is the Overwatch 2 Season 4 new hero?

Lifeweaver is a new support character and hero coming to Overwatch 2. He is a support character and has abilities that can heal, reposition, and shield teammates in a number of different ways.

He’s struck a chord with the community already by being a seriously handsome devil, and by the fact that he’s pansexual too. The artwork we’ve got already shows a striking character, and one that looks chic as hell. In terms of specific powers, Lifeweaver has ‘Life Grip’ that will bring teammates toward him and shield them and a tech called ‘biolight’ which heals and also builds assisting structures.

We can expect to hear more official news on Lifeweaver and a breakdown of his character later today (April 4).

What were the Overwatch 2 new hero rumours?

Fans have been speculating about who the next hero might be for a while now and before the leak this week, several potential candidates had been mentioned, including:

  • Mauga – a former friend of Baptiste seen in the ‘What We Left Behind’ Short
  • Maximilien – The wealthy Omnic who launders money for Talon
  • D.Mon – Real name Yuna Lee. A member of the MEKA Squad alongside D.Va
  • Overlord – Real name Seung-hwa Shi. Another member of MEKA Squad alongside D.Va
  • Zephyrus – A gladiator seen in multiple posters and images around the Overwatch 2 map Colosseo

During a Twitch stream, Neuss did hint that the upcoming Overwatch hero may be human, saying they’d be “cute like Mercy”. He also teased the hero’s unique abilities, saying they’d be “really interesting to watch unfold in high-level games” and “completely unique”.

However, we now no longer have to rely on said rumours, as we know who the new Overwatch hero for season 4 is – tune in here for more information as we get it!
