Overwatch 2’s Season 5 remains in full swing for fans to enjoy. There’s plenty of content to keep them occupied while they wait for the next update.

When is the next update for Overwatch 2?
Overwatch 2 will be receiving its next update to usher in Season 6 on August 10. This release date marks the end of Season 5 and the beginning of Overwatch 2’s biggest season yet. Season 6 will take over right away, leaving no gaps between Season 5 and Season 6.
Blizzard will be kicking off Overwatch 2: Invasion with tons of new content to look forward to:
- Story missions
- A new support hero reveal
- New game mode focused on core PvP
And of course, plenty of balance changes and patch notes. Characters like Mercy, Lifeweaver, Kiriko, and more will all be receiving buffs and nerfs to make things ready for the new hero who will join the healing characters, which will make competitive play more balanced, as well. Lifeweaver will be receiving significant buffs, including providing overhealth from his Tree of Life ultimate ability and converting his health to shields.
What’s coming in the next Overwatch 2 update?
Along with the changes to heroes comes bug fixes and other competitive updates and general updates in Overwatch 2 Season 6, following up the changes made to heroes like Orisa, Symmetra, Wrecking Ball, and Cassidy in the last patch update. All of these changes are designed to make the game more playable overall and keep the game alive for you and your allies.
Of course, there will be a new battle pass to work through with all your skills; primary fire, secondary fire, projectiles, barriers, and turrets, and you’ll want to make every shot with your weapon count. The battle pass will also contain two new legendary skins for Cassidy and Kiriko to deck them out.
Null Sector is taking over for Season 6, and it will be up to you and your teammates to take them out in this explosion of new content. Of course, you’ll still be able to enjoy taking down enemy heroes in the classic PvP mode, where you’ll take shots at them while they’re in your line-of-sight.
