Nintendo Announces new game staring Princess Peach

It has been a while since Princess Peach received her own game but Nintendo aims to fix that by giving her a new game where she is the star. Nintendo revealed that the new game is in development at the June 23, Nintendo Direct, but has yet to reveal much information.
The game received a short trailer showing off side-scrolling gameplay on a cute stage showing the Mushroom Kingdom in the background. During the trailer, Peach can be seen using magic abilities and interacting with different creatures. There is even a small flower companion that is reminiscent of Luna.
Peach has not appeared in her own game since Super Princess Peach on the Nintendo DS. This will mark a major achievement for the princess since she typically appears alongside other characters in spin-off games or in Mario games.
The Nintendo Direct was full of unexpected announcements like the return of Luigi’s Mansion and the remake of Super Mario RPG. There is even a new Super Mario Bros game coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year. Unfortunately, while most of the Mario games are coming in 2024, Nintendo announced that the new Princess Peach game won’t be hitting the Nintendo Switch until 2024.
We are certainly excited for the chance to play as Peach again. Leading up to the release, Super Mario Wonder will also let you play as Peach and Daisy in a new side-scrolling adventure filled with excitement, wonder, and talking flowers.
Nintendo did tease a transformation at the end of the trailer. Peach can step on a particular spot on the stage that looks like a stone platform with a special star engraved into it. When this happens, Peach will transform in some way but it is unclear exactly how this will happen.
There will be more to talk about with the Princess Peach game in the future as members of Nintendo stated there will be more to talk about as the game’s release date gets closer. For now, we just have the short trailer and screenshots to go off of.
