The Street Fighter 6 open beta will start on May 19, at 12am PDT. Players will be able to begin playing the demo as soon as the clock hits midnight on the 19. Capcom released a statement saying that due to an overwhelming response during the closed beta back in December, the team decided to make an open beta available to everyone. This will allow more fans to try out the game ahead of its official release later this summer.
What is in the Street Fighter 6 open beta?
The open beta will include all of the content found in the closed beta last year. This includes characters, matches, locations, and items you can gain from playing the game. However, the upcoming release will feature updates to character balance. Characters confirmed to be in the beta include Luke, Jamie, Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile, Kimberly, Juri, Ken.
You’ll be able to access the Metro City Downtown, Genbu Temple, Carrier Byron Taylor, Tian Hong Yuan, The Macho Ring, and Training Room stages. Character customization will return, allowing you to create your very own avatar to play as. Plus, World Tour, a training mode, Cross-platform play, Modern and Classic control types, commentary, an online match fight request function, battle tutorials, battle settings, and a photo mode will all be featured in the open beta.
