We’ve listed both of these modes here and gone into a few details on each of them. Right now, it’s not clear which squad configurations are going to be available on launch, but we can at least tell that squad sizes are a factor.
DMZ Mode
If you’ve not already heard about it, DMZ is the talk of the town right now. This mode is a new feature in Warzone 2 and gives you a very unique battle royale experience.
The main difference between this and regular Battle Royale is that DMZ is a persistent mode, meaning you drop in and out of a thriving and living world.
From the way the reveal document is written, it seems pretty clear that you’ll be able to choose different squad sizes, with at least trios being available at launch.

Battle Royale Mode
The regular Warzone 2 game mode and the one you’re probably already familiar with. You and a bunch of other shlubs will be parachuted onto a piece of land, then you’ll fight it out until only 1 is left.
The most significant change this time around has been the map, with the new Al Mazrah map causing quite a stir for fans. We’ve given a more complex look into the map itself in our Al Mazrah map Guide.
Luckily, Activision confirmed that Battle Royale will feature Solos, Duos, Trios, and Quads from the get-go, rather than forcing us all to wait for free-updated down the line.
