The long awaited sequel to the Breath of the Wild, Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom releases May 12 for Zelda fans around the globe. The sequel will include a brand new story, new areas for Link to explore, and new weapons and abilities.

Fans everywhere have been holding their breath for the newest adventure in the legendary Zelda series, and obviously because there are so many fans all over the world, it makes sense that Tears of the Kingdom will come in a variety of translations.

Tears of the Kingdom will be released with a variety of translations for players in any region of the world. Since Zelda fans are everywhere, Nintendo has translated the game into 11 different languages for players to enjoy.

What translations are there for Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?

Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be available in 11 different languages for fans to play through:

  • Japanese
  • Traditional Chinese
  • Dutch
  • French
  • German
  • Italian
  • Korean
  • Portuguese
  • European Spanish
  • Latin American Spanish

What is translated in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?

The translations will include all the cutscenes recorded in the selected language, with different voice actors for each translation. All text in the game will be translated as well, and that includes the subtitles and character dialogue.

Remember that Hyrule, the fictional country nearly all Zelda games take place in, does have its own language as well, Hylian. So any text in the scenery of the game, while it can be read in the language chosen for translation, will also appear in Hylian as well.

Tears of the Kingdom releases May 12 retailing for $69.99 / £59.99. The long awaited sequel is expected to break many barriers for the series, so if you are excited for the game, it is available to pre-load on your Nintendo Switch console.
