Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3050 would have the ideal, harmonious balance of features and pricing if there weren’t a lack of graphics cards and price inflation. The RTX 3050 boasts more processing power, cranks out faster frame rates (even with ray tracing), and supports video encoding and decoding that the RX 6500 XT does not, all for $50 MSRP more than AMD’s entry-level GPU rival, the RX 6500 XT.
However, if you need a card immediately, you might have to choose an older substitute due to fluctuating GPU costs caused by high demand.

A full complement of Nvidia’s second-generation RT cores for real-time ray tracing is also available on the RTX 3050, along with 80 third-generation tensor cores for DLSS, Nvidia Broadcast, and other AI-enhanced activities.
In these difficult times, the GeForce RTX 3050 is a fantastic 1080p graphics card that can play games at 60 frames per second or even more at 1080p resolution, even with all of the standard visual bells and whistles turned on.
It becomes even better thanks to the GeForce RTX 3050’s generous 8GB memory buffer and support for standout Nvidia features like Reflex, Broadcast, and DLSS. The GeForce RTX 3050 provides all the capabilities and rapid frame rates you could ask for in a current 1080p graphics card.
Thankfully, Nvidia decided not to scrap the Ampere architecture when developing the desktop RTX 3050. While the desktop RTX 3050 uses the larger GA106 chip and has a full PCIe 4.0 x16 connection as well as full support for all the most recent video codecs.
The mobile RTX 3050 Ti and RTX 3050 only use the minor GA107 chip, which only uses an x8 PCIe interface. Unlike the RTX 3060, it has a smaller 128-bit interface and 8GB of GDDR6 RAM as well.
The Radeon RX 6500 XT can escape the notice of cryptocurrency miners thanks to the severe compromises AMD made while building it. Its incredibly small GPU die also allows AMD to produce a large number of chips.
However, the GeForce RTX 3050 outperforms AMD’s offering by a wide margin. On the other hand, the GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card employs a scaled-down version of the large GA106 die found in the RTX 3060 and adheres to a standard memory setup.
