Is the RTX 4070 good for gaming?
In short, yes, the RTX 4070 GPU is great for gaming. This graphics card is incredibly versatile meaning you’ll be able to play various games in a variety of graphics setting while maintaining playable frame rates.
Better yet, this GPU is also a great choice for competitive players as it offers up over 200frames in games like CS:GO and COD when using optimized settings.
RTX 4070 performance expectations
On the surface, users can expect decent frames per second in 1080p gaming – making the RTX 4070 a decent GPU for competitive gaming. In titles such as CS:GO, PUBG, and COD, users can expect well over a 100FPS – even when using high settings. Of course, if you take your gaming seriously, you’ll likely be running a config which removes much of the clutter that can reduce framerates – meaning you’ll likely surpass the 200+ frame level with this GPU.
In 1440p, users can continue to expect over 100FPS – albeit not in every title. Lesser-intensive titles such as Doom Eternal, SOTTR, and Battlefield should all yield over 100 frames per second when using the 1440p screen resolution. That said, graphics may vary when doing so.
4K may be a push with this GPU, however, on average, you should be able to manage 60FPS in older games. Playing the latest AAA titles might not result in over 40FPS, so be aware if you do plan on using this card for 4K gaming.
Is the RTX 4070 worth it?
So, is the RTX 4070 worth it for gaming? Well, that all depends on what you plan on using your GPU for, For example, if you want to play the latest games in 4K while expecting 200FPS, this GPU probably isn’t worth it for you.
However, if you want a great all-rounder that can handle 1440p, 1080p, and some games at 4K, we’d have to say that this card is 100% worth the cash.
