AMD came out guns blazing at Gamescom 2023, with 2 major announcements. One, the introduction of FSR 3.0, and two, the launch of the brand new GPUs the AMD RX 7700 XT and 7800 XT respectively. We’ve got a launch date confirmed for the two cards, but where can you buy one on launch? And how much will it cost?
The Radeon RX 7700 XT is going to be a stellar GPU, aimed at 1440p gaming, and is based on the same RDNA 3 architecture that its 7th gen siblings have at their heart. Alongside that AMD is also introducing a few new neat software and AI-based firmware tweaks to really take advantage of upscaling, namely an updated FSR. Think of it as AMD’s answer to NVIDIA’s DLSS, but with a greater focus on upscaling to improve frame rates, and you’ll be in the right ballpark. How does it perform? Well, as soon as the NDA drops we’ll let you know that too! But early results look promising.

AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT Release Date
Team Red confirmed at Gamescom that the AMD RX 7700 XT and its more powerful sibling the RX 7800 XT will be launching on the 6th of September at 06:00 PT / 14:00 BST. Launching alongside Starfield‘s official release (no doubt, due to Starfield being an AMD title) Not only does the review embargo drop then, but the card will also be available for order as well. That means you’ll have plenty of time to scoop up all that review and benchmark goodness, before committing your cold-hard cash on your gaming PC’s next GPU.
RX 7700 XT Pricing?
Well for those budget-conscious folk, first up, we have some good news! These aren’t priced to the moon and back. AMD’s Radeon RX 7700 XT will come in at just $449 USD (ex VAT), £430, or €509 in Europe, making it a perfect fit for any 1440p gaming rig upgrade.
