The second ROG EVA release is here! This time designed after the EVA-02 mech and its prideful and competitive pilot Asuka Langley Soryu, this is a hugely powerful computer besides the unique design, and will demolish anything you throw at it.
Evangelion, or Eva for short, is a hugely influential series, not just for a mecha anime, but in adult-themed animation in general, and you can now build an entire PC with each component designed lovingly after your favourite characters (well – two of them so far but we hope more are on the way). Prepare to achieve full synchronization!

Whilst the preceding Evangelion Unit-01 design was certainly impressive, we think that ASUS have truly knocked it out of the park this time round, particularly in terms of the case design. See below for a full breakdown of the design and the photography from our build where we put the full beast together.
What is Evanglion?
To give it its full (English) title, Neon Genesis Evangelion (or 新世紀エヴァンゲリオン in Japanese) is a anime series that came out in the mid-1990s. Ostensibly based around a group of teenagers trained by a shadowy organisation to pilot giant mech suits and save the world against monsters, it delves into existential philosophy, the psychology and personal issues of its characters, and its lore and plot is laden with esoteric religious symbolism. It’s one of the most highly regarded and critically acclaimed series in the genre, with a large cult following across the world.
What do you get in the ROG Evangelion 02 build?
Below we’ve broken down the key features and specifications of each of the ROG EVA-02 components.
The case: ROG Hyperion EVA-02 Edition
The most eye-catching part of the entire EVA-02 setup is the case, which is a true statement piece. A sturdy bit of kit, the case design definitely evokes the eponymous battle mech, and besides this has tonnes of space for components and airflow, room for seven case fans in total (which is plenty) and other components besides, plus terrific cable management.
It has a separate red shroud section to tidy away all those cables and an interior design of the EVA-02 mech on the backplate that can change color along with the other case RGB that can be controlled by Aura Sync. It’s by no means a small case, but the inbuilt carry handles help you move it about without too much issue.

The motherboard: ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO EVA-02 EDITION
The ASUS Z790 HERO is a great motherboard for those looking to run a rig with a high-end Intel 13th gen CPU, with lots of overclocking potential. It’s ideal for gamers and content creators, has a solid design and plenty of I/O ports including USB sockets, plus plentiful M.2 slots. The audio solution and driver support is also top-notch.
The fantastic red, black, and yellow EVA-02 design really elevates what was already a nice looking board.
The graphics card: ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 24GB GDDR6X OC EVA-02 Edition
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 is an insanely powerful graphics card – without doubt the best currently available in terms of the native clock speeds, the amount of VRAM, and the additional performance benefits brought about from its full DLSS 3 support and 3rd gen Ray-Tracing cores, plus 4th gen Tensor AI cores. This ASUS ROG Strix variant AIB adds improved cooling but also noise reduction to what was already a great card, plus of course the sensational red, yellow, and green EVA-02 design.
The graphics card support stand: ROG Herculx EVA-02 Edition
If there’s one downside about the above RTX 4090, it’s that it’s a truly enormous graphics card. With a case as spacious as the ROG Hyperion EVA-02 Edition this isn’t a problem generally, however the weight of the card could be a bit of an issue if unsupported. Fortunately this stylish support system with inbuilt spirit level is ideal for your new build.
The CPU cooler: ROG RYUJIN III 360 ARGB EVA-02 EDITION
You won’t need an actual Evangelion-themed CPU because this will be covered by the cooler – specifically this AIO liquid cooler – which comes with an inbuilt LCD screen that you can use to either monitor hardware data or your own custom GIF.
The PSU: ROG THOR 1000W Platinum II EVA EDITION
This 1000W power supply has all the juice you’ll need to run the multitude of components this case is capable of housing, plus the Axial-tech fan design makes it extra quiet.
The keyboard: ROG Strix Scope RX EVA-02 Edition
This splendid looking keyboard is a full-sized wired model with a metal alloy top cover and IP57 water and dust resistance. The ROG RX switches are opto-mechnical, meaning they’re essentially halfway between a membrane keyboard and a full mechanical option, with the nice tactile feel of the latter.
You can also buy a separate ROG Keycap set for RX switches (EVA-02 Edition) if you want to instead swap out the keycaps on an existing keyboard to better match the overall build.
The mouse: ROG Gladius III Wireless AimPoint EVA-02 Edition
This ROG Gladius mouse is a sleek looking gaming mouse with a simple elegance that belies its high level of functionality. It weighs a mere 79g, with a high 36,000 dpi sensitivity, with 650 ips, a 50g acceleration rate, and a 1000Hz polling rate. It’s a five button mouse with macro programmable switches, a swappable switch design, and can be used in wired or wireless mode. You can even add EVA-02 design grip tape for extra purchase.
The mousepad: ROG Scabbard II EVA Edition
This water, oil, and dust resistant mousepad measures 900mm x 400mm x 3mm and is made from an anti-fray material. It is designed to be aesthetically compatible with either EVA collector’s build, and also comes with two additional ROG Logo Stickers should you wish to use them.
