Call Of Duty Warzone Mobile was officially revealed on September 8th as the next Call Of Duty mobile game. Since then, though, news has been thin on the ground. What is happening with Warzone Mobile and when can we expect to see it? Right now, there is no concrete release date but we do know it is set to arrive sometime this year.
When Is Warzone Mobile Releasing? It looks to be delayed!
While there has been no confirmed release date for Warzone Mobile, a tweet by CharlieIntel has spotted that the release date on the App Store has changed from May 15, 2023 to November 1, 2023. The reason behind this is in the dark, and it doesn’t help that Activision still have not revealed a worldwide release date for the game. If the news is true, then it means fans will need to wait a little longer to play their favourite battle royale on their phones.
With Q1 out of the way, this leaves three major windows for the game to launch if it’s to make the 2023 calendar. We predict Warzone Mobile could arrive in the Q2 2023 window – perhaps in line with Season 4 of MW2 and Warzone 2. However we think it’s more likely to see Warzone Mobile arrive at some time in Q4, although when exactly we do not know. We expect, Activision may want to give it some breathing room from the rumoured Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, that is strongly hinted at dropping this year. Let’s just hope we are not waiting for too long.
Warzone Mobile expected new features
We still don’t know much about Warzone Mobile, however a handful of new features were announced during Call of Duty Next for their Warzone Mobile edition. Here are the top changes we can expect with Call of Duty’s very first Mobile Warzone experience:
- The Warzone Mobile Map is none other than Verdansk itself.
- The Gulag and Killstreaks will be a part of the mobile experience.
- Similar sights, sounds, and movement to that of the console experience.
Will Call Of Duty Warzone Mobile Be Cross-Play?
Call Of Duty Warzone Mobile will not have cross-play available. However, it will at least have cross-progression. This is really big because now fans will have the option of registering their Warzone inventory progression across a PC or other console they play on.
As per the official website: “Pre-register for Call Of Duty: Warzone Mobile for a chance to unlock rewards at launch. The next generation of mobile battle royale is here, featuring authentic COD gameplay, shared progression, and up to 120 player count matches on mobile!”
Is a Call of Duty Warzone Mobile Download Available?
The game isn’t available yet, so right now it’s impossible to find a Call of Duty Warzone Mobile download in the wild. Chances are that when the game goes live you’ll be able to download it from the App Store, Google Play, and potentially even the Galaxy Store.
That said, Activision did turn on pre-registration on certain storefronts. This is basically a way to sign up for your phone to notify you when the game is available to download on that storefront. Call of Duty Warzone Mobile pre-registration is available on Google Play via Android. We’ll keep you up-to-date if pre-registration goes live on other platforms eventually.
