We may have discovered one of those patterns with the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. Excluding Black Friday, we think that the 5800X3D will plummet in price around Christmas.

We expect the 5800X3D to drop in price for the Christmas period

Using a price tracker tool like Camelcamelcamel can give you invaluable information when it comes to deciding the right time to purchase anything, not just PC hardware. We know that Black Friday is just around the corner, but it’s sometimes in the business’s best interest to sell outside of that time, to get better exposure.

As you can see, when referencing the price of the 5800X3D over the last year or so we can see that price reductions follow a trend, they fluctuate almost randomly, but all-time lows follow a pattern.

After analyzing the price trends for the 5800X3D over the last year, we can see that every 3 months to 4.5 months, we get a new all-time low price. This means that we should see another all-time low price in December this year. But that could extend until after the Christmas period, depending on the range you want to follow.

There’s another piece of evidence that supports this claim. If you look closely at November 2022, which is the month that Black Friday occurs, the price doesn’t come close to the lows we see in December. That’s what we expect to happen here this year too. It seems black Friday might not be the best time to grab a saving after all.

Following these price trends, we can confidently deduce that the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is due for a discount around December – January. We should see a new all-time low price, but there’s no real way of telling how much that price will be. But we would like to see the 5800X3D going for around $220.
