Epic Games has made many changes to Fortnite Battle Royale with the release of Chapter 4 – Season 3. Since we’re still in the first week of the new season, many players are still exploring its secrets and learning all the new mechanics.

One of the secrets is rocket riding, a fan-favorite Fortnite mechanic that was very popular in the early stages of Chapter 1. Originally, players used the Pumpkin Launcher for the mechanic. Later on, they used the Rocket Launcher, as well as many other weapons that had projectiles.

These explosive weapons are no longer in the game, but the rocket ride can be performed using the Cybertron Cannon, a new Mythic weapon.

Rocket riding can be performed in the new Fortnite season

Epic Games vaulted the Rocket Launcher with the launch of Chapter 4 – Season 2. The explosive weapon hasn’t been in the game for a couple of months, but this doesn’t prevent players from finding ways to do the rocket ride.

The Cybertron Cannon, which can be found both as ground loot and from chests, can be used for rocket riding. However, the projective of the cannon is very fast, which is what makes the popular Fortnite mechanic very tricky to pull off.

The projectile speed is amazing for players who want to move quickly over the map. However, hitting trick shots while riding the new Fortnite weapon will take a lot of practice. Fortunately, the item can be obtained from many sources, which will allow players to practice the mechanic.

Unlike the Rocket Launcher, Cybertron Cannon has unlimited ammo. However, it can carry up to two charges of projectiles at the same time, and each charge takes 30 seconds to reload.

We expect Epic Games to bring back the Pumpkin Launcher in a few months as well. This fan-favorite Fortnite weapon is exclusive to the Fortnitemares event, which should be released in late October.
