Players are upset a the recent announcement of Epic Games increasing their V-Bucks prices. Fortnite V-Bucks prices have steadily increased, and players are unhappy about this decision. As a result, many already think cosmetics have become overpriced.
As inflation continues, there’s no doubt it will start to affect the e-sports community, as microtransactions will be affected. However, though this increase can be understood from an outsider’s perspective, those within the community are not happy about this new change.
Players are upset about Fortnite’s increasing V-Bucks prices
Epic Games and Fortnite have recently announced on their official blog that V-Bucks will receive an increase in prices this October. However, this has not been the first time the video game developer has increased their V-Buck prices. In June, they announced certain regions would be receiving an increase. However, Mexico has had a decrease in V-Bucks prices.
Because of this change, many Fortnite players are upset upon hearing the news, as seen in a Reddit post. As a result, many players have been frustrated about how overpriced Fortnite cosmetics have become. In the official blog post, Epic Games states this new adjustment of prices is due to various “economic factors such as inflation and currency fluctuations.”
While this won’t really affect free-to-play Fortnite players, those who regularly purchase the Battle Pass and other cosmetics are unhappy about these changes. Many players have also stated they do not understand the reasoning behind this increase, as the recent cosmetics items are not worth spending V-Bucks on.
Although economic factors are entirely out of the video game developers’ control, many Fortnite players are unhappy with this news. V-Bucks is a premium currency used in-game to purchase various items. These items include the Battle Pass, cosmetics, weapons, bundles, and many more. Though you can obtain free V-Bucks in a few ways, you’ll spend quite some time grinding before you can buy a limited-time item.
