Fortnite streamer Ninja has had a rather odd partnership with Twitch, the biggest video game streaming platform. With 18.5 million followers, he’s the most popular streamer on the platform. However, he’s not too happy about its latest policy.

Last week, Twitch updated its Terms of Service, banning everyone from multi-streaming on similar platforms. This change doesn’t only affect Twitch partners, but everyone else, which is a huge hit to streamers.

Considering that the change could impact thousands of streamers, Ninja decided to speak against it.

Ninja streams Fortnite on several platforms, which is why the Twitch change will affect him

Back in 2018, Ninja was the most popular Twitch streamer. Thanks to Fortnite’s rapid growth and his impressive skills, the talented gamer managed to gain millions of followers during a short period. His peak came during his live stream with Drake, as he had more than 600,000 concurrent viewers.

The streamer has left the platform a few times since then but has always returned to it. However, he may decide to leave the platform for good after the latest policy change. Twitch no longer allows its streamers to do multi-streaming on other similar platforms, which will drastically impact Ninja.

Reminder that Twitch not allowing multi-casting (not only for me, but all people including partners and affiliates) only hurts their platform and the creators on their site. Exclusive contracts are different of course and should be handled on a base to base, but overall it’s time we give the power back to the creators.

Ninja

The popular Fortnite streamer moved to Kick, a new streaming platform launched in January 2023. Despite moving to the new platform just a few days ago, Ninja has already gained more than 27,000 followers on it.

While this move will certainly affect Ninja, he’s very popular and will be fine. However, many other content creators will have to choose between Twitch and other platforms, which is a tough choice.
