Fortnite and Epic Games have updated their rules for Fortnite Island Creators. Some of these rules are to be expected, while others may hurt Island Creators. The Fortnite Island Creator program is an excellent way for players to show off their talent and earn money. As a result, there have been plenty of new Island creations; however, some are more similar than you think.

However, as new players join and more maps are created, Epic Games has updated its rules to emphasize creativity and originality. Find out what Fortnite Island Creator rules have been updated.

Epic Games has updated its rules for Fortnite island creators

Fortnite has recently released new updated rules for the Fortnite Island Creator on October 2, 2023, on their official blog. In these new rules, they have a few key changes and have updated existing policy clarifications. In the latest update, two new rules have been added. They are the following:

  • Be Original: All your creations should be original. You should not duplicate, copy, or reproduce another creator’s promotional assets. These include thumbnails, titles, and descriptions. You are also prohibited from passing off your creation as another creator’s work. Most importantly, you should not impersonate other players, creators, streamers, Epic employees, or anyone else.
  • Educational Exceptions: You will be permitted with exceptions at Epic Games discretion if the primary purpose of your Creator Island is focused on educational, scientific, artistic, or historical experience.

Epic Games and Fortnite have also updated the following rules:

  • Give credit where it’s required
  • Play by the rules
  • All bets are off – No gambling is allowed
  • Keep it on the Island – Do not include external links or QR codes on your Island
  • Stay within Spec Requirements
  • Do not advertise your Creator Code anywhere within your Island

As per the last rule, all members of the Support-A-Creator program are free to advertise their Creator Code anywhere outside of Fortnite. While this rule to not advertise your Creator Code on the Island had not previously been implemented and was a key method of monetization, this element has now been removed, and Island Creators are not allowed to advertise the Creator Code within the Island.

The Fortnite Island Creator program gives players the ability to make creative maps and earn money while doing so. Fortnite players can do this due to the Unreal Editor or UEFN, which was introduced earlier this year.
