Fortnite wildlife has been affected by the latest update. Epic Games released the v25.10 update on Tuesday morning, bringing many new things to the video game. While most of these changes are positive, the community has complained about some of them.
With the new update, Epic either removed some Fortnite wildlife or reduced its spawn rate. This move is rather surprising, but it makes sense since the development team likely wants players to use raptors, which returned in Chapter 4 – Season 1.
Interestingly, the Fortnite update has also affected fishing, and players are not too happy about it.
Fortnite wildlife has been drastically impacted by the latest update
In a surprising turn of events, Epic Games has decided to completely remove chickens and Sky Jellies from Fortnite Battle Royale. While chickens were released all the way in Chapter 2, Sky Jellies were released in Chapter 4 – Season 1, just half a year ago.
Besides this, Epic has reduced the spawn rate of wolves and boars, meaning that raptors will be dominant animals. Additionally, players will no longer find fishing spots as often as before, which will drastically impact fishing.
Here’s a summary of all Fortnite wildlife changes that came with the v25.10 update:
- Chickens and Sky Jellies have been vaulted
- The population of wolves and of boars have been reduced
- The frequency of fishing spots has been reduced
Not only does this change impact mobility to a certain degree, but it also affects healing. Sky Jellies were fantastic for restoring both health and shield, but players will no longer be able to rely on them.
Many Fortnite players have complained about this change and asked Epic Games to revert it. However, it’s unlikely that the change will be reverted soon. Epic will probably wait for more feedback before making another decision.
The v25.11 Fortnite update will arrive next week and will be smaller, but it could include several hotfixes.
