Fortnite V-Bucks prices will increase in just a few weeks. Epic Games and Fortnite have been in a slew of controversies. These controversies span from the company-wide layoffs, which affected over 800 employees and 16% of the company, to an emote and the Fortnite home page layout change.
However, many Fortnite players still want to know why the price will increase later this month. Is it due to the recent layoffs, or perhaps there is another reason for this steep increase? We’ll explain why Epic Games and Fortnite have decided to increase the prices of V-Bucks in this article.
Why Epic Games increased the V-Bucks prices – Explained
On September 27, 2023, Fortnite announced on their official blog they would be adjusting the price of V-Bucks for certain countries. These countries include the Czech Republic, Denmark, Eurozone Countries, Hungary, Japan, Norway, Poland, Romania, Sweden, Turkey, and the United States. The increase in Fortnite V-Bucks prices is due to economic factors such as inflation and currency fluctuations.
However, this is not the first time Epic Games has increased the prices of V-Bucks. Previously, they increased the V-Bucks prices for the United Kingdom, Canada and Mexico. Additionally, it was expected the countries above would experience an increase in pricing for the V-Bucks, similar to the United Kingdom, Canada, and Mexico.
As a result, instead of Epic Games and Fortnite changing their V-Bucks pricing all at once for all countries, more research has likely gone into the adjustments of inflation and other factors, such as currency exchange rates. Although V-Bucks will increase in many countries, Mexico is the only country with decreased prices.
Although pricing has increased, it will not affect the Fortnite Crew subscription. However, packs such as The Final Reckoning Pack, Skull Squad Pack, Graveyard Drift Quest Pack, Saint Academy Quest Pack, and Transformers Pack will see an adjustment when they become available in future rotations.
