Google Immersive View
Google Maps Immersive View utilizes a blend of Street View and aerial imagery to display digital, real-time portrayals of urban areas and cities, and Google has officially declared that Immersive View will soon be accessible to users in additional cities like Amsterdam, Dublin, Florence, and Venice.
Unfortunately, we haven’t had the opportunity to try out Immersive View here at WePC, which suggests that Google is gradually releasing the feature on a localized basis, most likely due to the significant amount of data processing required to implement it widely.
Google took to Twitter on the 11th of March to announce the coming of Immersive view.

In addition to giving you a miniature Citys Skylines Esq experience on google maps of your favorite city, Google is also giving you real-time views of traffic, crowd, and weather information about famous landmarks, Immersive View can also locate places like shops and ATMs using your phone’s camera.
Google has already begun rolling out this sub-feature, the feature is dubbed “search with Live View” and is very much a part of the whole Immersive view Package – Google, forever making getting around easier.
Google Indoor Live view
Indoor Live view by Google is a feature that uses AR-powered arrows to direct you around and point out things like restrooms and exits in various significant buildings in supported cities, such as airports, train stations, and malls.

Now, technically, Indoor live view isn’t new, it’s been available to users in the US, Zurich, and Tokyo since 2021. However, Google is planning to make Indoor Live view available to more users than ever before.
The list of cities google plans to add Indoor Live View support to is about as long as your arm, the list is as follows:
- Barcelona
- Berlin
- Frankfurt
- London
- Madrid
- Melbourne
- Paris
- Prague
- São
- Paulo
- Singapore
- Sydney
- Taipei
Google’s Immersive view is coming to more people very soon, we don’t have exact times but keep an eye on maps in your area for the big Immersive view features update.
Do be careful on WiFi, however, as some users have reported Immersive views using up to 2GB of data for half an hour of virtual adventuring.
